This wilted plant series are inspired by the processes of decay found in nature. Vibrant colours contrast against the theme of death.
About the Artist
Méabh Joyce is a visual artist and printmaker based in Belfast. Recently graduating from Belfast School of Art with a Ba (Hons) in Fine Art, Méabh won the Queen Street Studios Gallery Award and was longlisted for the RDS Visual Artist 2019. Her prints centre around the haptic experience. Haptic perception is the human’s ability to experience and interpret things based on the touch sensation. Using printing techniques, such as photo intaglio, chine-collée and relief print, Méabh’s work is built up with layers of ink to create a unique, visual and tactile landscape of form and texture.
