Emma O’Hara works with techniques such as photography and screenprint taking Inspiration from landscapes and architecture. O’Hara documents encounters with urban environments and nature and collages them in a manner that signifies the fight between nature and humanity. Compositions of nature and tropical vegetation enveloping the canvas and architecture are collaged and manipulated to reflect how our past neglect has influenced our present climate crisis. Green house structures built for maintaining and growing, have now for Emma, become a warning symbol to remind us of climate change. O’Hara uses bold alerting colours to stress this conflict but also to give a sense of utopia or hope for a better future.
